We made some progress today on getting our new showroom and warehouse setup.

The showroom, when finished, is going to give our clients an amazing visual of the way we can enhance their wedding or event.

We can’t wait to finish it and show it off!

From military precision to unforgettable wedding receptions! 💍✨

This past Saturday, Smiling Dog Event Group pulled out all the stops for the 132nd Wing Military Ball. We had the privilege of transforming their venue with custom event decor, capturing timeless formal portraits, and hosting a photo booth experience that kept guests smiling all night long.

If you are currently planning your wedding, you know how overwhelming it can be to source, coordinate, and communicate with separate vendors for every single detail. That’s where we come in.

How we elevate your wedding day:

Complete Venue Aesthetics: Room decor and lighting tailored to your unique wedding colors and style.

Formal Guest Portraits: A dedicated setup to make sure every guest walks away with a gorgeous, high-quality portrait in their finest attire.

Photo Booth Entertainment: High-energy candid fun that fills the gaps when the dance floor takes a breather.

One team. Multiple services. Zero added stress.

Ready to check "decor," "photo booth," and "portraits" off your wedding to-do list in one easy step?

It takes a lot of people working together seamlessly to put on any event, but especially large events.

This past week our team was fortunate enough to be part of two large events:
- The Mark Your Mark! Self-Advocacy Conference in Ames
- The 2026 - 132nd Wing Military Ball in Des Moines

While working on these events we had the privilege of working with the following amazing teams:
- Heather and the team at Capture Management Solutions
- Gateway Hotel & Conference Center- Ames
- Hilton Des Moines Downtown -
- Joanne's Event Rentals
- Rieman Music - Urbandale
- Sami and the rest of the 132nd Wing Military Ball Organizing Committee
- Celebrations Party & Rental Store - Ames
- Something Blue

Every one of these groups and organizations were great partners in our success in carrying out our responsibilities for these events.

I particularly want to thank the staffs at the Gateway Hotel & Conference Center and the Hilton Des Moines Downtown for going above and beyond to provide us with everything we needed whether that be a convenient way to fill vases with water for 40 tables, to providing a vacuum for the red carpet, to gathering all of the table runners, chair sashes, and centerpiece decor from the tables and placing them on one table for us to pack up at the end of the evening.

Thank you to all of the above individuals and groups for helping us to help these groups have amazing events!

hink weddings are all we do? Think again! 🐾✨

At Smiling Dog Event Group, we love a gorgeous wedding, but our decor team handles so much more. Next week, we’re switching gears to bring two incredible community events to life:

🎥 Make Your Mark! Self-Advocacy Conference | Ames, IA
Partnering with the Iowa Developmental Disabilities Council to bring their “Lights, Camera, Advocacy” theme to the big stage!

🖤 132nd Wing Military Ball | Hilton Des Moines Downtown
Setting the mood for an unforgettable evening with a sleek, “Sophisticated Black & Gold” aesthetic.

From Hollywood-inspired glam to elegant military tradition, we love bringing unique visions to life down to the very last detail.

Got a corporate gala, conference, or special event on the horizon? Let’s craft something amazing together! Drop us a DM or visit the link in our bio to get started. 📩👇

It’s not always about quantity.
