Welcome 𝗚𝗮𝗯𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗻 (he/him), one of our incredible swings, to The Station! Come From Away is, in part, a story about people realizing the daily rat race has left them unfulfilled. Gabe, of all people, knows how easy it is to bury his own stressors in search of personal aspirations. This show has left him with an important lesson; that sometimes you have to slow down and breathe, or else you'll find yourself wondering how you found yourself wherever you are.

This show strikes a personal chord for Gabe. "My mom had just boarded a plane at Newark Airport when the first plane struck the World Trade Center. Her flight was among the very first to be grounded. It had taken my family nearly twenty-four hours to learn that she had found a Greyhound bus to bring her home afterwards. All of the thoughts of what could've been have always made this show a special one for me."

Join us in welcoming 𝗔𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮 𝗕𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗱𝗱𝘂𝘀 (she/her) to the Station! Amanda plays Hannah and others in Come From Away. Previously, you may have seen her in Twin City Theatre Company's Songs for a New World (Woman 1 U/S), or ACT Theatre Company's A Christmas Story (Mother) and White Christmas (Martha). She hopes you all come see this touching story come to life!

"I was very intrigued by the challenge of playing so many different characters with different accents and personalities in the same show. I also love that this show finds a way to honor all those touched by 9/11, and shows you so many different (and true!) stories that stemmed from that day. I think it will be difficult for people to see this and not find at least one character with whom they can relate. This show helps us to see how people can come together to help one another in a crisis, and how our actions and generosity can have impact for years to come. Telling such a true, important, and human story was what really led me to this show."

𝙈𝙚𝙚𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝘾𝙖𝙨𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝘾𝙤𝙢𝙚 𝙁𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝘼𝙬𝙖𝙮 𝙖𝙩 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙎𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣

We're excited to welcome 𝗝𝗲𝗳𝗳 𝗗𝗮𝗿𝗲 (he/him) to the Station stage as Claude & Others! Jeff is no stranger to the Champaign-Urbana theatre scene, having been seen previously on the CUTC and Parkland stages. Jeff teaches General Music at Edison Middle School in Champaign. He's been active in the C-U theatre community for years, and is excited to join the company at The Station Theatre.

When asked why he was excited to be part of this show, Jeff said, "I was excited about returning to acting now that my kids are a little older. The cast and staff are so dedicated and enjoyable to work with!"

𝙈𝙚𝙚𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝘾𝙖𝙨𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝘾𝙤𝙢𝙚 𝙁𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝘼𝙬𝙖𝙮 𝙖𝙩 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙎𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣

A familiar face in and around the Station, 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗮 𝗠. 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝗸𝘂𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗵 (she/her), plays Beulah & Others in Come From Away. She is delighted to be a part of this production, and be on stage instead of directing on this production. She recently directed The Complete Works of Jane Austen Abridged, and serves as the Artistic Vision Director for the Station. She teaches Theatre at Eastern Illinois University.

Christiana reflects on what Come From Away means to her: "I took students to see Come From Away in 2019 in New York, and I was so incredibly moved by the show. I love when shows make me feel better about humanity, and despite being a show about 9/11 this musical is really about the best of what makes us human in difficult situations. The music is also so wonderful to sing. I'm so grateful to be a part of the show!"

Up first, meet 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗮 𝗠𝗮𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘇𝗶 (she/her), who plays Diane & Others. Cara is a singer, composer, actor and educator. She loves the chance to create amazing characters and is so grateful to be a part of the acting community here.

"Come From Away is such a unique show because everyone and no one is the star. We all have to work together to make this incredible piece of art. My oldest was born 10 days before 9/11 on September 1. I was a terrified and sleep-deprived new mom on the day, and this incredible story helps me to remember all the good that was happening in the world during a tragedy. We need each other, just as we do to create this show - our community is vital to our survival. I hope everyone feels the joy the show can bring."
