Urbana Fine Arts Center is a place where children and adults, learn and enjoy experiencing fine arts. We have a strong ballet program year round and a diverse summer session with classes and activities in various types of art. All classes, recitals and activities are aimed towards the technical and artistic development of each student. Professional artists are often invited to participate in our e

vents, sharing their knowledge and talents to enhance our artistic productions and allow our students to have the experience they need to stay inspired and motivated. Our Program Director, Luciana Rezende, has over 17 years of experience teaching ballet in the Champaign-Urbana area.

We will be honored to have ARTEM KALISTRATOV as guest teacher next week. He will teach ballet for our Summer Intensive 2 students, and ballet, pointe and variation classes to our Summer Intensive 3 students on Monday and Tuesday.

Our own faculty members RALITZA IORDANOVA, CORBIN and LUCIANA REZENDE will also be teaching this week.

TAP WORKSHOP conducted by ELANA TIBERI

Dates: July 6, 13, and 20.
Time: 7:15-8:15 PM
Age: 18 and older
Level: Intermediate
Location: Urbana Fine Arts Center, 2860 Philo Rd, Suite H, Urbana, IL 61802

Designed for intermediate level adult tappers, this 3-week workshop focuses on learning and refining a choreographed tap piece. Each class will include a warm-up, center combinations, and across-the-floor exercises, with the majority of class time dedicated to choreography, musicality, and performance quality.

Prior tap experience is required, as the pace of the class is intended for dancers with a solid foundation in tap technique. Join us for a fun and focused opportunity to build skills, challenge yourself, and dance alongside fellow tap enthusiasts.

SUMMER INTENSIVES 2 AND 3
WEEK 2:

Enjoy some pictures of our students during our 2nd week.

PAIGE CUNNINGHAM CALDARELLA, renowned teacher and choreographer, University of Illinois faculty member and former Dancer with Merce Cunningham Dance Company was the guest teacher for our Summer Intensive 3 Choreography Workshp this week.

Our regular faculty members RALITZA IORDANOVA, CORBIN PHILLIPS, JASMINE O’CONNOR, ANNA GINSBURG-SULLIVAN and LUCIANA REZENDE also conducted Summer Intensive 2 and 3 classes.

SUMMER CAMP and BALLET INTENSIVE 1, 2026

WEEK 2:

Once again, what a great week!

Chinese Dragon Dance was the theme and our campers learned, practiced and performed the Chinese Dragon Dance this week, during the World Dance classes.

The activities continued in the afternoons with productive works about Chinese culture.

They also had Ballet, Musical Theatre, Contemporary, Art&Dance, and a special Fusion Hip Hop & Street Jazz class conducted by guest teacher ELANA TIBERI.

Our thanks to camp teachers JASMINE O'CONNOR, ANNA GINSGURG-SULLIVAN, VICTORIA BAGBY and NATALIE POCIASK for inspiring our students during the week.

Next week' theme:
Italian Folk Dance.

SUMMER INTENSIVES 2 AND 3
WEEK 2

We were honored to have guest teacher PAIGE CUNNINGHAM CALDARELLA at our studio conducting a Choreograhy Workshop for our Summer Intensive 3 students on Thursday.

The work continues for our summer Intensives 2 and students with ballet, pointe, variation, contemporary, character dance and conditioning, taught by our regular faculty members.

Chinese Dragon Dance was the theme for the Word Dance class.

We were honored to have guest teacher ELANA TIBERI teaching a fusion dance class with hip hop and street jazz styles.

Thank you so much to our teachers JASMINE O'CONNOR, ANNA GINSBURG-SULLIVAN, VICTORIA BAGBY and NATALIE POCIASK for the wonderful work with our students this week.

SUMMER INTENSIVES 2 AND 3
WEEK 1:

Enjoy some pictures of our students during our 1st week.

ELOY BARRAGAN, an internationally renowned teacher and choreographer was the guest teacher for our Summer Intensive 3 Ballet, Pointe, Variation, Contemporary and Choreography classes.

It was great to see some of our alumni students, teachers and professional dancers attending Mr, Barragan's classes.

Our regular faculty members RALITZA IORDANOVA and LUCIANA REZENDE conducted the Summer Intensive 2 classes.

The work will continue until July 24 and we still have spots available!
