💐 With heavy hearts, the family of Charles R. Wells — professionally known as C. R. Wells and lovingly called “Rickey” — announces his passing on May 8, 2026, at the age of 73.

A Washington, D.C. native and gifted artist who lived by his manifesto, “To Seek & Find ART,” Rickey leaves behind a legacy of beauty, quiet strength, and deep love for his family.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Brenda Wells, and survived by his devoted sisters, Brenda Fortune, Diane Williams (Charles), and Sylvia Davis (Partner, Dannie), along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
