Congratulations to Ruth Sack [], winner of the Mollie & Albert Jacobson Sculpture Award in the 76th A•ONE International Juried Exhibition.

Sack’s encaustic sculptures stretch wax into unexpected forms, combining color, pattern, found objects, and intimate scale.

Her works Multicolored Phantasm, Mother and Child, and Red-Yellow-Green-Go are featured in this year’s A•ONE. Across these pieces, globes become bodies, openings become mouths, and familiar objects take on new personality and presence.

Working intuitively with layered wax, antique wooden elements, hardware, and materials gathered in the studio, Sack creates sculptures that hover between abstraction and anthropomorphism, the constructed and the discovered.

Visit the galleries to experience the 76th A•ONE, on view through October 22.

Congratulations to Brigid Kennedy [], winner of the Patricia Warfield Jinishian Figurative Award in the 76th A•ONE International Juried Exhibition.

Kennedy’s paintings SMA I, SMA II, and SMA V are inspired by the architecture, color, and light of San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.

Created from photographs taken through glass, the works layer reflections, interior and exterior space, and multiple perspectives, exploring the relationship between the built environment and the natural world.

Swipe for a look at Kennedy at work in the studio and her paintings on view in the galleries.

Congratulations to Richard Wollman [.wollman.56], winner of the Carole Eisner Sculpture Award in the 76th A•ONE International Juried Exhibition.

Wollman’s wood sculptures are shaped through a deep collaboration with natural materials, using found and recycled wood marked by grain, weather, and insect patterns.

His works The Grief of Ceres, Leda & the Swan, and Philomela are featured in this year’s A•ONE as part of his Metamorphoses series, a group of wood sculptures that explores the interior lives of women in Ovid’s epic poem.

Through carved landscapes and mythic references, Wollman reimagines stories from the distant past that continue to resonate in the present.

Visit the galleries to experience the 76th A•ONE, on view through October 22.

Congratulations to Jennifer Toby [], winner of the Board Chairs Grand Prize in the 76th A•ONE International Juried Exhibition.

Recognized for her outstanding body of work, Toby creates layered abstract paintings that explore memory, recognition, and the feeling that something unfamiliar can seem strangely known.

Her works Before Here and Becoming are featured in this year’s A•ONE, reflecting her interest in transformation, emergence, and the space between the tangible and the elusive.

The Board Chairs Grand Prize includes an award and a Solo Exhibition Opportunity at Silvermine Galleries.

Thank you to our Board Chairs, Rose-Marie Fox and Svetlin Tchakarov, for sponsoring this award.

In remembrance.

Twenty-five years later, we remember those who lost their lives, their families and loved ones, and all whose lives were forever changed.

In 2021, Silvermine presented Voices of Reflection in partnership with Voices Center for Resilience, a commemorative exhibition of artwork created in response to September 11 and in the years that followed.

Today, we return to one of those works as we reflect, remember, and honor the lives and stories that remain with us.

The two aluminum panels evoke the Twin Towers. Each painted circle represents a name read from the 9/11 Memorial, forming an ashen surface of remembrance.
