Historically, master craftsmen believed they built for three audiences:

1. Their customer.
2. Future craftsmen who would someday inspect their work.
3. Their own conscience.

The first earns a paycheck.

The second earns respect.

The third cultivates virtue.

When all three align over many years, honor follows.

These fun little stools wrap up our recent Cambridge install. We had some ply remnants, and the client asked if we could build a simple custom seat to accompany the fir desk.

We had a few key objectives in mind: simple, sturdy, and optimized for material yield. We used a half-lap joint for the legs, and Lamello fasteners to join the base to the seat. The result is very light and low profile, with the added benefit that these can be made flat packed Ready to Assemble.

20” high, 13” round seat, Douglas fir ply; finished with Rubio Monocoat.

Small bath, ✨HUGE transformation! 😲
This Cambridge bathroom makeover was part of a larger first floor remodel. I love the tile selection on this one.
