Need high quality leather work? We do that too! What does Double S Leatherworks do? We create custom leather goods to fit the needs of our clients. High quality and handcrafted from start to finish, in our Midlothian Texas shop. As a lifelong artist, I fell in love with leather work from the beginning. Pair that with a degree from Texas A&M in Construction Science, and I’m able to figure out how to make just about anything in leather. I love the challenge of doing custom work and the reward of HUGE SMILES when clients get their hands on the finished product. What do we make a lot of in the shop? Wallets, purses, hunting gear, clay sports gear, belts and even repairs!

Today is Fun Fact Wednesday!

Did you know that if your thread gets caught underneath a random magnet on your sewing machine, that it won’t sew correctly?

Well now you do!

Sigh. I guess I knocked the magnet off of where it normally is and did this to myself.

The moment of panic was “is my machine broken?” Nope. Just user error.

I’m here! I’m still here! Just been very busy in the shop.

Christmas orders! We meed to talk about them asap!

The shop has had a very busy summer and start to the fall and I have not brought up Christmas orders for this year. So let’s get working on them now!

Hope to post pics of recent work soon, but here is what I’m currently working on!

Two pairs of boots becoming a multitude of things: small purses, keychains, valet trays, money clips and possibly inserts on knife sheathes. I’m using every single thing I can!

Tooled belt and pouches for a construction guy.

Arm bracers for some protection while working.

Scabbard from an animal he hunted.

A guitar strap for his Texas made guitar.

Suspenders for a rancher who works hard and needs them to do the same. I know his leather goods take a beating with all he does.

A tooled padfolio that is going to be stunning!!!!

Repairing a well worn knife sheath. The belt loop finally gave up on him.

And some minor purse repairs.

Whew! A lot is going on, but it’s all so fun!

Shop has been super busy. Which means I’m staying out of trouble.

But since I’ve spent time literally waiting on glue to dry, I made a small pouch! It’s so cute. I’ll get it up on Etsy this weekend unless you sn**ch it up first.

Black oil tan leather, cattle tag zipper pull with a pretty concho (NOT a spout for concealed drinks!!!!!!!!! I repeat NOT!).

6-1/2”x 4”x 2”

$50 plus shipping and tax

Single loop holster is hand cut, tooled and dyed. Welt is glued and fully stitched. The whole holster is wet formed.

The belt is hand cut, lining is glued and stitched. Edges are smoothed and polished. Each bullet loop is wet formed and stitched for a perfect fit.

Can’t get any more custom and guaranteed each one will be unique.
