I love sweets, and more specifically, cake. At my June 2012 wedding, not only did I have a beautiful 3-tier traditional cake, I had a tower of cupcakes (piecakens (cake with pie baked in the middle), to be exact...yum!) and cake pops. So, fast forward to June 2013. My step-daughter was preparing to graduate from high school and I wanted to contribute something special and unique for her party. Tha
t's when I decided to try my hand at making cake pops myself (my wedding pops were made by another cake-popper :)
Little did I know what I was getting myself into! I had so much fun creating flavors and decorating each batch that I felt like a kid again. Then I started bringing some to work to share (I gave away almost my whole batch intended for the graduation party!) and received rave reviews. It got me thinking...I love this and it would seem I'm pretty good at it too! And since I'd spent a small fortune buying an obscene number of cake and frosting combinations out of sheer excitement, I thought "I could do this for real". In fact, I knew with college expenses just around the corner, this would be a great way for my husband and I to spend time together while trying to support his beautiful daughter as she pursues higher education in the field she has dedicated herself to for as long as she could walk - dance.
