The Gettysburg National Base Ball Festival transports fans back in time to watch real base ball players play the sport as it was during the Civil War and just before the Battle of Gettysburg. Over a two-day span, teams from across the country participate in 1864 styled base ball games. The 19th Century Festival has quickly become one of the finest in vintage base ball. For any of our followers in the Washington DC area or Northern Virginia, here's your chance to join a 19th century base ball club. Besides players, they need volunteers to help with umpiring, scorekeeping, and other front office positions!

Don't forget! If you want to see 19th century base ball this year, you still have a chance! Come on out to the National Association of Historic Base Ball Clubs National Championship Tournament next weekend September 20-21 in Rising Sun, Maryland at the top of the Chesapeake Bay. 15 clubs from all over the country will be competing playing by the rules of 1864. Same deal as Gettysburg National 19th Century Base Ball Festival- great family fun, free admission, and... on Sunday the Phillie Phanatic will be there from 12-1 and Saturday the 1980 Phillies legend and star of the 1980 World Series, Dickie Noles will be there from 1-2 signing autographs! Bring your lawn chairs, blankets and shade tents and see base ball the same way it was played in 1864 before million dollar contracts, televisions, ....and gloves!

Didn't get your fill of 19th century base ball last month at the Festival? Maybe you couldn't be there? Well, here's your chance to catch 19th century base ball again this year at the National Association of Historic Base Ball Clubs National Championship Tournament on September 20-21, 2025. 16 clubs from the NAHBBC will be fighting it out for not just the National Championship, but also 3 other championships as well. The tournament takes place in Cecil County, Maryland at the Bard Cameron Sports Complex in Rising Sun and the Dove Valley Winery. 4 fields, 32 games, 16 teams, 1 National Champion (and 3 other champions as well. You'll not only see great base ball, but you can also interact with the players, shop at vintage vendors like Stockbridge Sewing Works , Prowler Bats, K&P Weaver, and several others! Another great Festival is in the books. What a great weekend! The weather held out for us and all the fans who came out to see 54 games in 2 days were all treated to some great base ball played by the rules of 1864. Thanks to all the fans, vendors, sponsors, media, players, bands, participants and especially their families for making it another truly memorable event for all!

If you are coming out to this year's festival this weekend you are in for a treat. Both Saturday and Sunday starting at 10am, The 8th Green Machine Regiment Band will be there playing authentic Civil War era brass band music. These performers are from George Mason University and you don't want to miss them!

Festival starts at 8:00am each day with 5 games being played at one time. Free admission. Great family fun for everyone. Bring your blankets, chairs and shade tents!

For anyone out there interested in starting a new club or joining one, look at this. Who knows, one day you could be playing in Gettysburg in July!

The National Association of Historic Base Ball Clubs is looking to add a club in the Baltimore/Washington area. If you are interested in helping to start up a club or just wanting to play, message us and we'll get back to you. We want to bring historic base ball back to this very significant area in the history of base ball and we need your help! We'll help with the heavy lifting as we return vintage base ball to the DMV! We are also looking for start ups in the Fredericksburg/Richmond area in Virginia and the Lehigh Valley and Scranton in Pennsylvania. Message us for details!

This year's line up includes: The Elkton Eclipse, Gettysburg Generals, Talbot Fair Plays, Flemington Neshanock, Harrisburg Keystones, Providence Grays, Wytheville Statesmen, Brandywine BBC of West Chester, Rising Sun BBC, Atlantic BBC of Brooklyn, Addison Mountain Stars, New York Mutuals, Eckford BBC of Brooklyn, Flat Rock Bear Clan, Monmouth Furnace, Georgetown Gentlemen, Maine Dirigo, Canal Dover Redlegs, Diamond State BBC of Delaware, Lewes BBC, Westfield Wheelmen, Emmett Machinists, Flower City BBC, Shiners BBC of Rockingham, Kingston Guards, Continental BBC of Kalamazoo, and, last but not least, the Regular BBC of Mt Clemens.
