Portrait of a Colorado bird: Generally a clean background for a bird portrait is preferred. But when you are photographing a Colorado resident, you will have to make exceptions and the background mountains gives a nice perspective of the habitat in which these live.

The soul of the falls: When I entered the canyon and noticed the frozen water falls, the wind inside the canyon was bone chilling to say the least. The wind would dive from the opening( where the falls was located) in the top and enter the canyon with full speed. I was thinking of making a few quick compositions and getting out of the canyon, I noticed that incoming wind would also blow some fresh snow from the top into the canyon. I knew that I had found my image and thus started the 40+ mins long wait of standing on a precarious edge waiting for the wind to blow snow down the canyon. What you see is the result of that wait and I must say, it was all worth the cold and effort!

Sunrise after the storm: The hiked up to this view point after the snow storm dumped more than 10 inches of snow, the previous night. The sunrise was pleasant to say the least and the scene was still with no wind at all. The smaller trees below the flatirons gives an idea of how big these rock formations are!
