USA BMX RACING IS GROWING AROUND THE COUNTRY. LET'S KEEP OUR LOCAL MOMENTUM MOVING

USA BMX Brings New Racing Destination to Aztec, NM Following Lease ApprovalDesigned to inspire the next generation of riders, the Aztec Riverside BMX track will create a dedicated space for youth development, competition and community connection in Northwest New Mexico.TULSA, Okla. (July 21, 2026)—USA BMX is bringing a new chapter of BMX racing to Northwest New Mexico with the approval of a new sanctioned track in Aztec. Backed by a newly approved lease with the City of Aztec that was approved by the Aztec City Council on June 23, the project at Aztec Riverside Park is moving into the fundraising and development phase and will create a year-round destination where riders of all ages can race, learn and build a stronger BMX community in the heart of the Four Corners region. At the heart of the Aztec Riverside BMX project is its commitment to the next generation of riders. For Rochelle and Justin Brown, who are leading the effort to bring the track to life, the reason behind it has always been the same: it’s for the kids

This is the direction we’ve been going and this is where we are. We are not digging yet but I can’t see any reason why we won’t be racing in this park.

Just wanted to come drop this off. I’ve still been working on this without updates for a couple reasons. 1. I’m super busy and 2. to not get anyone’s hopes up. Fat chance of that with the past too many years waiting on this. We just had a really great conversation about this and I’ll be sitting in on a meeting soon. What I hope to happen from this meeting is I hope we at least have the plan to secure the land lease and we will be looking at establishing the entity. If this all goes how I think it will I will be naming the new track and entity and I would expect the land lease soon behind that. This is all foreign to me as I’m just an older kid that rides but I feel like some changes we made are going to be great and we will see this thing through. There will come a time in the near future that we move forward and start looking for donations of time, materials and maybe money. Of course we will make sure this is a tax write off for those who are able. I still meet people almost everyday who not only support this but look forward to this finally coming about. I can’t wait to start asking for help shoveling dirt and shaping jumps. We will get this track and we will have a big bad ass race scene here in the panhandle. Yall just don’t give up. I got this.

SHARE WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS-

We aim to get children and their families on bicycles, and we need your help! We will accomplish this by working with local municipalities and their Park Departments to create a USA BMX Sanctioned Facility with learn-to-ride, bicycle safety, and racing programs.
We are looking for local residents to sign this petition to show our council that the community supports a facility for people outside of traditional stick and ball/court sports.

Been a while but just wanted to stop in and let this group know that I’m still trying to push this thing into existence. I feel like I’m going to have to start going to these park and rec meetings. Who all in here lives in escambia county? I think that’s going to be the support I need initially. Message me or comment

Well folks, I am at a loss. I really don’t know where we stand with this at the moment. USABMX has gotten involved with the County and I have not had any correspondence in quite some time. To say I feel defeated is an understatement. I don’t know the future of BMx here. 7 years I have attended dozens of meeting, spent quite a bit of money out of my own pocket chasing this. My kids are grown now to the point I’m not even sure they still want to race. If it ever happens, I will be there. But until then, I am done with my fight. I have moved on to other things. I will be supportive if it goes, but my opinion is grim at best at our chances. I will remain as a liaison with the county if they need me, and they know I am ready to jump in if it goes, but my weekly calls, monthly meetings, and endless responding to emails is over for me.

Thanks for the support, I hope this isn’t the end, but I am signing off for a while.
