Sitting in the flowers, I was tearing up, remembering when I was pregnant with Max in the summer of 2006. This little baby has the whole world ahead of them. Wishing them all the best!

Recently, I had a woman reach out to me about a very intimate and powerful photoshoot. Without hesitation, I said, YES!
This was her passionate vision, and I wanted to share it with all of you with her permission, of course.
Having lived with chronic pain for the entirety of my life and in 2018 contracting West Nile encephalitis, nearly losing my life, I have spent a great deal of time reflecting on what truly matters, and I’ve come to believe that part of my life’s intention is to help others—to find ways to bring healing, connection, and meaning where I can.

There have been moments when I’ve had to dig deep to find beauty in what feels broken. We all carry scars within us. Some visible and others hidden quietly beneath the surface. As women especially, we are often held to impossible standards of beauty, grace, and perfection, making it easy to feel we must conceal our imperfections rather than honor them, leaving us feeling disconnected from our authentic selves.

I reached out to Chelsea with an idea for a deeply personal photographic exploration of vulnerability, courage, healing, and reclaiming beauty in imperfection. I am grateful that she has embraced my vision and agreed to help bring it into being.

For me, this project is a way of honoring the body, the scars, and the story they carry. I hope these images invite reflection, compassion, and perhaps a gentler way of seeing ourselves and one another.
