The BRF parcel south of Jones Street (purple) is only accessible from Jones Street. The City of Milton is advocating that the purchaser of the North Parcel (blue and yellow parcels) will have to provide an easement to the BRF to retain access to our southern parcel!! Why should a private land owner be required to encumber their property to provide access to a parcel for which there is already a platted road? Who will be responsible for paying for the lost development rights over the easement? This in essences describes an additional taking of personal property rights above the current situation we are asking to have reversed.

For those interested in the State Statute that governs the vacation of platted streets, the requirements, process, and prohibition of creating an alternative process - we post the State Attorney Generals opinion along with our two letters sent to the City of Milton. This is the background that led to the current illegal Revocable License document created by the City of Milton Attorney (Heather Lindsey) in 2015.

It is with sadness that we say goodbye to one of our founding members, Pat D'Asaro, who passed away over the weekend. For decades, she championed local preservation and empowered others to do so, as well. Her passion for our community will be long remembered. Our thoughts are with her family during this sad time.

We are excited to share our progress in implementing steps towards development of the Education Center with the clearing of Jones Street and a partnership with Foundation neighbor Gary Pruitt for the establishment of our community gardens! A more detailed master plan is in the works and the education pavilion design is soon to follow. Pictures soon!

We sadly announce that our longtime friend and supporter Susan Fishbaugh passed away earlier this week. Although we will miss her tremendously, her spirit will continue to shine on all of us as we continue to celebrate the good work she helped accomplish in our community. We love you, Susan.
