CALLING ALL WRITERS and anyone who has ever been interested in dabbling with writing. BTC will be hosting a workshop this evening from 7-9 in room 238 of the Theatre Building. Hey Everyone! We apologize for the break as we worked on revamping and planning for the future of Blackbox, but don't fret! HUGE announcements for this season are to come after Spring Break, so keep your eyes peeled and your excitement bubbling! In the meantime, Blackbox will be performing an oldie, but goodie at tomorrow's PAC showcase at 8 p.m. in the HUB Flex Theatre! Curious what it'll be? Come show your support, not only for Blackbox, but for the other amazing groups that will be performing! Tickets are $2 and you can buy them from us. Message us or comment for more details!

Thank you to everyone who came out to our first general meeting of the year! We were thrilled to see so many people, all eager to get involved! Don't forget Mirror, Mirror Auditions are this Sunday at 3:00-6:00 in Room 119 in the Theatre Building. Come prepared with a one minute contemporary monologue, and a smile! Unless you're doing a dramatic monologue..then don't smile, that'd be creepy..unless you're going for creepy, but what do I know? I'm just a box!

We are still accepting show proposals for our Fall 2015 Season! Full-length plays, one-acts, dance shows, musicals, and experimental theatre are all welcome.
Please list the following in your proposal:
title and author, role you wish to play (actor OR director; one cannot direct and cast themselves), a character breakdown that includes age, gender, and a brief 2-3 sentence analysis, a brief synopsis of the play, your venue of choice (119, 112, 114, 006, and others), your scenic vision and needs, your technical vision and needs, and anything else you think you'll need.

Blackbox Theatre Company is excited to announce we will be holding an end of the year charity showcase on May 1st! This is an opportunity for students not only to show their various talents and skills, but to enjoy each other's company one last time before final's week, summer, and/or graduation! BTC values the importance of using theatre to help others and therefore all the proceeds of the event will go towards Comedy with a Cause, a charity founded by Menaka Deolekar to help low support income families of people with special needs. Those of you who are interested in performing in this showcase (it can be anything: monologues, songs, playing an instrument, spoken word poetry, improv, comedy, etc.) please email [email protected] with your Name and What Talent You Plan on Performing by Wednesday April 17 by 5PM.
