Staying in a motel deep in the Mojave Desert, May finally gets ahold of her life when Eddie, an old flame, appears. Eddie begs for May’s affection, but she knows she cannot fall back into past destructive cycles. Perhaps a spirit or subconscious feeling, the Old Man weaves back and forth between the two, recalling stories of their past that seem to reveal something bigger. Then May’s date, Martin, arrives and is thrown into the midst of May and Eddie’s seemingly endless battle of envy and anger. Throughout the show, a lingering question arises: is this town big enough for the both of them?

If the thought of the afterlife crosses your mind from time to time, Sartre’s No Exit provides a view of one end of the spectrum. The small cast of NRT’s production captures the dawning awareness of each character as they realize that their own lives and personalities can be their own demise. Fine acting, an on-point set, and excellent directing made for a riveting performance.- Mary H., Audience member (and my mom)

Everyone’s performance was so good! Kasia had to be deadpan and they did great doing that the entire show. i was blown away by everyone’s dramatic performance, and the emotions displayed on stage were real and relatable, the premise of the show is interesting too and leaves the viewer thinking once they leave Q Sulkowski, NRT Secretary/Audience Member
