Festival season is here. Uncle Dave Macon Days Festival is starting back with music competition this year. The Old Time National Banjo Compettion is back! There will be shade tree bands playing. Dancers head to this festival. Dance competition is not back this year but there will be plenty of great music to dance too.

This is Jacob Fennell. He is dancing to Durham's Bull. Here is the story behind this: Trenton Caruthers, Daniel Rothwell, Jordan Judkins, and Jacob have all participated in the Tennessee Folklife Program Tennessee Traditional Arts Apprenticeship Program. Trenton requested Jacob to dance to Durham's Bull. That great fiddling you hear is Trenton. Daniel did his apprenticeship under Louis Frazor. Louis was a square dance caller. His favorite tune was Durham's Bull. Daniel chose to honor Louis by calling. We are thankful these young men are carrying on the tradition.

This is going to be a great event. Thomas Maupin and Daniel Rothwell , Jacob Fennell, Trenton Caruthers and Jordan Judkins have all been participants in this wonderful program. They will be jamming and dancing outside 10:00-11:00. Performing inside the Grand Hall at 11:20-11:50
Then back outside for more jamming and dancing 1:00-2:00.
Come join us outside and cone in for a wonderful day.
