Hey everyone! Really appreciate everyone who came out this past weekend! Verity drew a solid crowd and Heart of the Beast continues to bring people in week after week. I got to see both myself this weekend and have to say — if you haven't seen either of them yet, let me give you a little push.
If you're into thrillers, Verity is absolutely worth your time. I haven't read the book it's based on, but I completely understand why it has such a devoted following. And Heart of the Beast — I'll just say this — it's the story of the bond between a man and his dog, both dealing with PTSD while surviving in the wilderness. It is so well done that even the hardest person in the room isn't walking out without at least a tear in their eye.
We also opened Digger this past weekend — a dark comedy with Tom Cruise playing an oil tycoon and John Goodman as the president of the United States, both trying to save the world from an ecological disaster of their own making while also dodging accountability for it. Attendance has been light on this one so we won't have it very long, but we do have it at least one more week. It's a bizarre film — both characters are almost caricatures of what you'd expect on paper — but honestly I think it's going to develop a cult following over time. If that premise sounds interesting some see it and tell your friends if you enjoy it as it won't be around long.
Speaking of windows — Runner is leaving us this week, so $5 Ticket Tuesday is your last chance to catch it before it's gone. This week we're also opening Other Mommy, a horror film that has been generating some real social media buzz, and Angel and the Badman, a remake of a classic western. Between those and the other titles we are holding this week there should be something for just about anyone.
