ALABAMA VOICES SERIES CONCLUDES WITH NORMAN ROCKWELL PRESENTATION AT THE RED DOOR THEATRE
The Alabama Voices series concludes this month with its final presentation at the Red Door Theatre. Presented by the Tourism Council of Bullock County and the Red Door Theatre in partnership with Big Cedar Education Foundation, the series has celebrated Alabama’s rich heritage through food, sports, art, and storytelling.
Following earlier programs on Alabama food traditions and legendary athletes, the series will conclude with “Every Picture Tells a Story: The Storytelling of Norman Rockwell,” presented by acclaimed storyteller Dolores Hydock. The program will take place Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at 3:30 PM in Union Springs.
Hydock, a nationally recognized performer, brings Rockwell’s work to life through vivid storytelling and projected images of his iconic illustrations. Audiences will gain insight into Rockwell’s creative process and the cultural context behind his work for The Saturday Evening Post. More than illustrations, his images captured the spirit of American life and continue to resonate across generations.
