Come visit us at the Wilds Sunflower Factory in Kane PA for their annual Sunflower Festival. Hours are noon to 10pm today and noon to four tomorrow. There are great vendors, food, music and of course their famous shine! Hope to see you here....it's a nice day for a drive.

Allow me to introduce you to my painting that I call Cuddles. It is an 11x14 acrylic painting that celebrates the love for pets that the nonprofit Avery's Pawsitive Change exhibits. Please consider bidding on it during the Corry Artists Guild's Create for Change art auction this Saturday from 11 to 3pm. A portion of all sales that day will go to some very worthy nonprofits. This is the painting that I did for the local August 8th art auction. I would like to invite you to come, preview all the local artwork and consider making a bid. This original acrylic painting measures 24x30 with a framed size of 28x34 and is called A World Away. Some of the proceeds from the sale of this painting will go to the Corry Public Library. We are the husband-and-wife team behind Rafferty’s Renderings, and have shared
over fifty years of marriage and artistic collaboration. From our country home in rural Pennsylvania,
we create art that reflects our deep connection to nature, craftsmanship, and the beauty of rural
life. Our partnership blends two distinct yet harmonious disciplines—woodcarving and painting—into
a shared celebration of the natural world. Here is a little bit about us.....

Hank is a skilled woodcarver whose work captures the textures and forms of the outdoors. Each
carving is shaped by hand, revealing the character of the wood while transforming it into lifelike
representations of wildlife, landscapes, and rustic scenes. His pieces reflect both precision and
warmth, honoring the materials and the environment that inspire him.

Bonnie is a painter and devoted gardener whose love of flowers and wildlife fills her canvases with
color and vitality. Her paintings often feature blooms from her own garden, birds, and woodland
creatures, rendered with a gentle realism that conveys her appreciation for the living world around
her. Her art celebrates the quiet beauty found in nature’s details and the joy of nurturing life through
both gardening and painting.

Together, under the name Rafferty’s Renderings, Hank and Bonnie create a body of work that

of rural Pennsylvania and the enduring partnership of two artists whose lives and work are deeply

Hank has carved a 9x14 inch ode to Mead Park in Corry which he calls the Millstone. It will go up for auction on Saturday August 8th at the amphitheatre within Mead Park. You can view it Friday night from 4-6 pm or preview before the 1 o'clock auction from 11 to 1. Please consider placing a bid that supports the nonprofits and artists. Join us for a great time.

I had a lovely walk today along the trails at Goodell Gardens in Edinboro. The first thing I noticed was a White Fringe Tree in bloom. Then I walked around the heritage garden to see the rhododendron and azaleas in full bloom too. As I traversed northward I enjoyed the views back toward the garden and out across the lake. At the far end they have a small picnic grove where I caught a woodchuck sitting on a picnic table. He left when he saw me as I didn't have any picnic food to offer. The next part of my walk gave me some shade as I walked thru the woods along some emerging non edible mushrooms. I scared a deer and as I came out of the woods I found a heart shape in the bark of a tree. On the last leg of the walk a red fox crossed my path and a rather curious looking rabbit said hello at the pavilion. What a glorious day!

This was my entry for the Corry Artists Guild Ripples and Reflections theme piece. I call it "Slurp". I thought a dog drinking out of a bird bath on a hot summer day would cause all kinds of ripples! Hope you like him!

Hank received a ribbon at the Ripples and Reflections Art Show last week. His Moonshiners woodcarving was a big hit! Right next to it he has his bald eagle carving. He calls it National Treasure.
