More and more haunted attractions are adding photo opportunities, selfie stations, and Instagram-worthy sets. Some guests love having cool places to take pictures and make memories. Others would rather see that space used for another scene, actor, or scare.

IF YOUR FAVORITE HAUNT HAD TO CHOOSE ONE, WOULD YOU RATHER HAVE AN AMAZING PHOTO AREA OR ONE MORE SCARE SCENE?

Some haunted attractions and theater shows use water effects to make scenes feel more real. A quick mist, a surprise sq**rt, or a prop that sprays as you walk by.

Some people love the added immersion. Others think it’s crossing the line.

Have you ever been sprayed with water in a haunt or theater show?

Did it make the experience better… or did it just annoy you?

Should attractions use water effects, or should guests stay completely dry?

Let’s talk strobe lights.

Some haunt fans love them. They can make a scene feel chaotic, intense, and completely disorienting. Others can’t stand them because of headaches, sensory issues, medical concerns, or because they feel they’re overused.

As a haunt owner, I’m curious where you stand on it.

Do strobe lights make a haunted attraction better, or do they take away from the experience?

And if you could change one thing about how haunted attractions use strobe lights, what would it be?

Most people use vacation to get away from work.

Meanwhile, I’m standing on a beach in the Bahamas thinking about rehearsals, music, props, lighting, haunted attractions, and everything that comes next.

Maybe that’s because I genuinely enjoy what I do.

For me, being creative doesn’t feel like work. Building shows, creating experiences, and bringing weird ideas to life is something I look forward to.

So I’m curious…

When you go on vacation, do you completely disconnect from work and turn everything off?

Or do you enjoy what you do so much that it doesn’t really feel like work in the first place?

Don’t get me wrong, there’s some awesome stuff there. But the best part is running into horror fans, haunt people, content creators, and friends I’ve met over the years. Every convention starts feeling more like a family reunion than a shopping trip.

It got me thinking…

When you go to a haunted attraction, what keeps you coming back?

The scares?
The escape from everyday life?
Or the people you experience it with?

Let me know.

One minute it’s a perfect night for a haunted attraction…

The next minute Florida decides it’s time for lightning, thunder, and a complete downpour.

If you’ve ever been to an outdoor haunt, you’ve probably seen it happen.

What’s the worst weather you’ve ever dealt with on haunt night?

Did you stick it out, leave early, or decide not to go at all?

Theater actors and scare actors both perform… but they are NOT the same thing.

Some actors can own a stage but struggle face to face with guests.
Some scare actors can control an entire room without a script.

So what happens when you throw them into each other’s world?

Do theater actors make better scare actors… or do scare actors make better actors?

Which side are you on?

Nothing kills immersion faster than hearing the same generic line over and over in a haunt…

But is there ever a situation where it actually works?

Should haunt actors avoid it completely…or can the right actor make it terrifying?

What do you think?

05/25/2026

Some scare actors throw out quick creepy lines that fit the scene… but others use dialogue to pull you deeper into the story and reveal pieces of the backstory while you walk through.

What do you prefer in a haunted attraction? More mystery… or more lore?
