FAQ:
Q: Do I have to read music to join the Ukiah Community Choir?
A: No! While we will sometimes use written music, non-readers are encouraged to join.
Q: How often does the UCC meet?
A: To start, we're meeting on three Thursdays in 2019—10/10, 11/7, and 12/5—from 6:00 PM to 7:30PM. You’re welcome to come for any or all of these meetings, and to drop in for a part if you can’t stay for the whole time. If we're excited to keep singing together more regularly, we'll begin weekly practices in January.
Q: The Ukiah Community Choir meets at the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church. Is it a religious group?
A: No; we are grateful to Holy Trinity Episcopal Church for sharing their space, but we are unaffiliated with the church. While we draw music from many different traditions—some of which may be religiously affiliated—we do not sing explicitly religious or devotional repertoire.
Q: Who is directing the UCC?
A: The director of the UCC is Eric Reinelt. Before moving to Ukiah in 2017, Eric sang in numerous choral groups of varying styles and directed two a Ca****la choirs. He is currently a voice student at Mendocino College and a member and assistant director in the Emandal Chorale in Willits.
