Say hello to newly engaged Kameron and Bridget! Hear their story straight from Bridget herself:

"I was an Apache Belle from 21-23 and he was in the Apache Band 20-22. We met during my freshman year training camp at a band and belles meet and greet before school started and before his sophomore year. We started dating about a year later after he had already graduated from TJC and would come see me perform as a sophomore belle. We both transferred to SFA and graduated in December of 2024. He started teaching high school math and I started my masters in business. We are both back in Tyler now!! He works for Chapel Hill and I am working for the Apache Belles as the Graduate Assistant! We are so grateful that TJC ultimately brought us together and so happy to be back here!"

For decades, this dynamic duo has shaped generations of students through passion, excellence, and a deep love of music. From Tom’s leadership of the TJC Band to Heather’s award-winning work with the Jazz Band and her role as department chair, their impact will be felt for years to come.

As Heather prepares to retire in 2026, we have a meaningful opportunity to celebrate both of their legacies in a lasting way.

We are incredibly excited to announce that the Tyler Junior College Wind Ensemble has been invited to perform at the 2027 TMEA Clinic/Convention.

This marks the second time the ensemble has received this honor, and we are grateful for the opportunity to represent Tyler Junior College and our community.

“We are proud of the hard work, dedication, and artistry of our students and faculty, and we look forward to sharing music with colleagues and friends at the convention,” said Jeremy Strickland, Director of Bands.
