Tyler Museum of Art The Tyler Museum of Art is accredited by the American Alliance of Museums. There is also a library, classroom, café, and gift shop.

The Tyler Museum of Art exists as an educational and cultural center to enrich the lives of East Texas citizens and visitors through the collection, preservation, study, exhibition, interpretation, and celebration of the visual arts. The Museum is housed today in an award-winning structure nestled on a tree-shaded site, adjacent to the campus of Tyler Junior College. The building contains two majo

r exhibition galleries on the ground floor, the North Gallery and the Bell Gallery. The Tyler Museum of Art's growing permanent collection features paintings, prints, photographs, and sculpture by artists such as James Surls, Vernon Fisher, Alexander Calder, Terry Allen, and Charles Umlauf.

Don't forget... ‘Talking Texas Art: East Texas’ takes place tomorrow, August 23 at 2:30 p.m.!

The panel includes our Executive Director Caleb Bell alongside artists Candace Hicks and O. Rufus Lovett, and arts writer John Ewing. The discussion will be moderated by Glasstire’s Assistant Editor William Sarradet.

Free and open to the public, the discussion will celebrate the publication’s 25th anniversary by looking at the evolution of the visual arts in our region.

We are excited to announce the start of our new program 'Art After School'! Taking place from August through May, on the third Thursday of the month, students and their families are invited to the TMA Classroom for free art activities and light refreshments.

We hope you will join us this Thursday, August 20 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. for kickoff. This is a 'come and go' event. Children should remain accompanied at all times.

'Dwelling: No Place Like Home' opens to the public on Friday, August 21!

TMA Members are invited to an exhibition preview reception on Thursday, August 20 from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. To RSVP, please call (903) 595-1001.

Reception attendees will have the opportunity to take home one of Jessica Ninci's ceramic oyster sculptures. Attendees can register for the door prize until remarks at 6:00 p.m., when the drawing will be held. The winner must be in attendance.

A big thank you to everyone who joined us for 'Summer Studios' this year! If you enjoyed the activities, we hope to see you at 'Family Day' on every second Saturday of the month and our new 'Art After School' program every third Thursday during the school year.

'Family Day' takes place from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 'Art After School' will be from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Both are free and open to the public. The programs include an art activity, light refreshments and admission to the galleries. Children must remain accompanied by an adult at all times.

We are excited to host Glasstire’s panel discussion ‘Talking Texas Art: East Texas’ as part of the publication’s 25th anniversary celebration. Taking place on Sunday, August 23 at 2:30 p.m., the panel includes our Executive Director Caleb Bell alongside artists Candace Hicks and O. Rufus Lovett and arts writer John Ewing. The discussion will be moderated by Glasstire’s Assistant Editor William Sarradet.

Free and open to the public, the discussion will center around the evolution of the area’s art scene over the past 25 years.
