Today I decided to go exploring through an antique shop and, of course, found a few treasures I simply could not live without. Thereās just something about old things with stories tucked inside them.
While checking out, I learned that the cashier was taking an art appreciation class and was just beginning her own journey of discovering art. Her face lit up as she talked about it, and she said she absolutely loved it.
I left the store, but as I walked away, I felt a little tug in my heart to go back.
I carry a small art bag with me almost everywhere I goāfilled with little creative projects I can work on while Iām out and about. I had just finished a fun piece, and without overthinking it, I handed it to her and told her I thought she could use it as a bookmark.
The smile on her face was such a beautiful moment.
I have never been so grateful for art. Not just because it creates beautiful things, but because it gives us simple ways to connect, encourage, and offer unexpected kindness to someone else.
Sometimes creativity becomes more than art.
Sometimes it becomes a gift.
