Troubadour Festival A Texas BBQ & Music Experience.

Inspired by the traveling musician and the huge popularity in traveling to experience the best in Texas barbecue, Troubadour Festival brings the two together for a first of its kind, multi-location Texas BBQ & Music Experience.

We are heartbroken to learn and share the news of the passing of Jim Buchanan. Jim worked the pits at several Texas barbecue joints, most recently at Dozier’s BBQ in Fulshear, which participated in four Troubadour Festivals (including the OG in Celina in 2021).

Jim’s path took him to New Mexico a few years ago, but he will always be a cherished member of the Texas Barbecue Family. He was a veteran, incredibly kind, creative as hell with smoked meats, and supportive of everyone around him. Our last texts to each other were simple: “I miss your face!” and “I miss yours too!”

Like his (and our) friend John Brotherton, Jim was one a kind. Now they’re together, undoubtedly smoking something together and laughing about old times.

JB 🤝 JB.

Our hearts and prayers go out to Jim’s family and all who were blessed to know him.

Rest easy, buddy. Thank you for being you.

Troubadour Festival Family:

We have made the difficult, heartbreaking decision to skip the Celina festival in 2026.

The current economic climate, combined with ever-rising costs and an increasingly difficult artist booking landscape, have all led to this decision.

Our goal is to take a break, regroup, and return in 2027.

We are 100% independent. We don’t have investors or trust funds. We are two best friends and our families. As difficult as this is, we have to make smart choices in hard times.

In the meantime, please continue to support independent festivals, venues, restaurants, and small businesses as best you can.

As our friend BJ Barham with American Aquarium wrote: “Tough times don’t last. Tough folks do.”

Thank you for your support of Troubadour Festival these last 5 years. It means more than you’ll ever know.

Much love,
Chase Colston & Cody Johnson / Troubadour Festival

IS IT CAKE? Yes, yes it is!

We wanted to make Flatland Cavalry's first show after the release of their new album, “Work of Heart,” to be special. So, we called Fabulous Fare, and wow, did they deliver!

We were stoked to give Flatland Cavalry a custom cake to celebrate the work they put in on “Work of Heart” - and it tasted as amazing as it looks. The Humble Folks have been longtime friends of Troubadour Festival, and we were honored to share this day with them. Congrats on the new record, y’all. It’s a masterpiece!
