Confluence Gallery has flourished since 1988 as a not for profit hub of the arts community in Twisp, Washington. The gallery holds sixteen exhibits between the Community and Main Galleries each year, showcasing the work of local and regional artists from North Central Washington. Special exhibitions draw from farther a field, highlighting noteworthy artists from the Pacific Northwest. The gallery

is a center of cultural activities in the Methow Valley, hosting lectures, film screenings, and music concerts in an intimate setting. One of few non-profit art galleries in the country, The Confluence is intertwined in its community and volunteers are our foundation.

We invite you to contribute to our exhibit “Hygge: The Gift if Comfort” at The Confluence. The show will run November 17 - January 9, 2027. The Call is open July 31 - September 16.

Hygge (pronounced HOO-guh or HEU-guh) is a Danish term that describes a quality of coziness and comfortable conviviality that fosters a feeling of contentment and well-being. This year’s holiday exhibit will feature works that celebrate the small joys of life, embrace relaxation and quiet pleasures, and support the well-being of everyone. Artists are invited to submit work in any medium that represents your personal style, the aesthetic that you feel makes your work recognizable, while embracing the feeling of hygge. We encourage artists to produce artwork at affordable price points for the gift-giving season. Buyers of work from this show are allowed to take pieces at the time of purchase so we will replace items as they sell. There are no size restrictions for this show.

There is a great Twisp Art Crawl coming your way this weekend! RYZO Tasting Room will be showing Field Notes, a body of work by Liz Ashley, a landscape and wildlife painter located in Winthrop. She first fell in love with the Methow Valley on annual visits in the early '90s, dreaming for years of living here — a dream that came true in 2011. Working in acrylic, Field Notes is her ongoing love letter to this valley: paintings of the views and the feeling of being here. Last Chance Distilling will be exhibiting new works by Rick Balam and serving up their fabulous spread of cocktails. The Confluence will be hosting the opening receptions for their two new shows Food for Thought and The Drawing Club: OOPS, We Painted in the Main and Community Galleries, respectively.

We have Two Calls open at The Gallery! Hygge and This Land is Our Land. Don't miss your chance at these great fall shows.

We invite you to contribute to our exhibit “This Land is Our Land” at The Confluence. The show will run October 6 - November 14, 2026. The Call is open June 26 - August 5.

Public Lands belong to all Americans. They are our cherished places, and provide clean water, air, and habitats for plants and animals - including people. Wild public lands are places to roam, adventure, observe, renew, hunt and fish. They are the homelands of Indigenous people, who have taken care of these sacred places since time immemorial. Public land belongs to all of us and yet today we are at risk of losing access to our most treasured places.

We are asking artists to sing their personal heart song for the wild places that surround us and celebrate our public lands. This is your chance to use your artistic expression to speak up for and stand for public lands. Show us your joy and exhilaration, or perhaps you are feeling anger and mourning over the loss of wild places and perhaps access to a favorite spot. Show us why you feel public lands are important and vital to our well-being, our soul and for all life.

Join The Confluence and Ryzo Tasting Room on Glover Street on July 18th 5-7 pm.

RYZO Tasting Room will be showing the paintings of Ria Harboe. Ria lives on one of the San Juan Islands but visits the Methow Valley often, as it reminds her of where she grew up in the high desert mountains in Southern California. She has participated in many shows at the Confluence and describes her work as emotional, bold, vibrant, and full of color and movement, with an element of mysticism. The Confluence will be hosting their openig receptions for Beyond Cosmos and Unruly beings. Science meets imagination in Beyond Cosmos at the Confluence: Art in Twisp. Tour the universe in all its dimensions from the view of both local and featured artists from around the nation in this dynamic show curated by Penelope Varn. Enjoy the whimsy and wonder of visual storytelling as we all ponder the vastness of the universe we call home. Methow valley tattoo enthusiasts are already familiar with local artist Caitlin Cordell’s work. But now, the Confluence is happy to present the art of her Tarot Deck, Unruly Beings. For the first time, these exquisite illustrations will be on display full size and available for purchase.
