A Letter to Our Twin Masks Family

There are some announcements that are incredibly difficult to write.

After many heartfelt conversations, our Board of Directors has made the difficult decision that our 2027 season will be Twin Masks Performing Arts Center's final season.

This was not a decision made overnight, nor was it one made easily. Like many community theatres, we have faced increasing financial challenges, and after carefully considering our future, we believe this is the most responsible path forward.

When Twin Masks opened its doors nearly ten years ago, we had one simple dream: to create a place where stories could come to life, where artists could grow, and where audiences could laugh, cry, think, and connect. Thanks to all of you, that dream became so much more than we ever imagined.

Over the past decade, we've produced dozens of plays and musicals, introduced new talent to the stage, welcomed seasoned performers back into the spotlight, and built friendships that will last a lifetime. We have celebrated standing ovations, opening-night jitters, sold-out performances, backstage mishaps, and unforgettable moments that could only happen in live theatre.

Most importantly, we built a family.

To every actor, director, stage manager, technician, designer, board member, volunteer, donor, sponsor, and patron who walked through our doors—THANK YOU!!!! You are the reason Twin Masks existed. Your passion, generosity, and belief in community theatre have been the heart of everything we've accomplished.

The story isn't over just yet.

Our 2027 season will go on exactly as planned, with productions in February, May, August, and November. We hope you'll join us throughout the year as we celebrate ten extraordinary years of theatre, friendship, and community. We want this final season to be less of a farewell and more of a celebration of everything we've created together. I cannot think of better way to do this than with our first show in February 2027 "Same Time, Next Year" and closing with "Barrymore" in November 2027, both of which I will be directing.

As the curtain prepares to fall one final time, we hope you'll laugh with us, cry with us, reminisce with us, and help us fill every seat one last time.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for believing in this little theatre that dared to dream big.

Here's to one final season...

Let's make it our very best.

With endless gratitude,

Claudia Lillibridge

So proud to announce our 2027 Season:

SAME TIME, NEXT YEAR
Written by: Bernard Slade
Director: Claudia Lillibridge
February 5, 6, 12, 13, 19 and 20, 2027

SYNOPSIS: One of the most popular romantic comedies of the century, Same Time, Next Year ran four years on Broadway, winning a Tony® Award for lead actress Ellen Burstyn, who later recreated her role in the successful motion picture. It remains one of the world’s most widely produced plays. The plot follows a love affair between two people, Doris and George, married to others, who rendezvous once a year. Twenty-five years of manners and morals are hilariously and touchingly played out by the lovers.

PICASSO AT THE LAPIN AGILE
Written by: Steve Martin
Director: Sean Donovan
April 30, May 1, 7, 8, 14 and 15, 2027

SYNOPSIS: This long-running Off Broadway absurdist comedy places Albert Einstein and Pablo Picasso in a Parisian cafe in 1904, just before the renowned scientist transformed physics with his theory of relativity and the celebrated painter set the art world afire with cubism. In his first comedy for the stage, the popular actor and screenwriter plays fast and loose with fact, fame, and fortune as these two geniuses muse on the century’s achievements and prospects, as well as other fanciful topics, with infectious dizziness. Bystanders, including Picasso’s agent, the bartender and his mistress, Picasso’s date, an elderly philosopher, Charles Dabernow Schmendiman, and an idiot inventor introduce additional flourishes of humor. The final surprise patron to join the merriment at the Lapin Agile is a charismatic dark-haired singer, time-warped in from a later era.

THE INTERVENTION: HOLIDAY MOVE EDITION
Written by: Brenda Redmond and Pamela Paynther
Director: TBD
August 6, 7, 13, 14, 20 and 21, 2027

SYNOPSIS: In this comedy, three friends stage an intervention to convince their high school friend that her new boyfriend, a washed-up holiday movie actor, is a fraud. However, when the boyfriend and a meddling mother-in-law show up, will their perfect plan be ruined?

BARRYMORE
Written by: William Luce
Director: Claudia Lillibridge
November 5, 6, 12, 13, 19 and 20, 2027

SYNOPSIS: Christopher Plummer won a Tony for his portrayal of John Barrymore in the acclaimed Broadway production of this work by the master of one-character biographies for the stage. Each act begins with a stunning entrance onto a stage that the sixty-year-old legendary actor has rented to prepare for a comeback performance of Richard III. Barrymore jokes with the audience, spars with an offstage prompter, reminisces about better times, and does delicious imitations of his siblings Lionel and Ethel.

Details regarding auditions will be posted at a later date.

As always, many thanks for your continued support and involvement. It means the world to us!!

Won’t you be our neighbor??

The suites next door to us are available for rent if anyone is interested.

The one space (directly next to TMPAC) could be ideal for a small bakery, framing or trinket shop.

The other space, located at the end of our building, would make a great yoga or dance studio, or something along those lines.

You can comment below and I can give you contact info or DM me (Claudia) personally.

Would love to make our building into an artist’s location!!!
