I saw A Christmas Story, The Musical last night at the Orpheum Theatre, and it was fantastic! It was fun because I’d seen it a few years before with a different cast, and so the bar was already set pretty high! Here’s looking at you Mike Etcheverry! Anyways, I was not disappointed, and truth be told, I don’t believe I ever could be! 👁️❤️🎨🎵🎭
This cast exceeded all expectations, and the show was every bit as good the second time around! It was fun to see so many lovely faces I’ve gotten to know and love over the last couple years, as well as many I’ve known quite a bit longer, and watch them put together a classic such as this! 😊
If you love the movie, then you’ll love this show just as much, if not more! Ryker Harris nails the role of Jean, and all your favorites (from the oversized snow suit to the bunny costume, from the “you’ll shoot your eye out” to the triple dog dare frozen flagpole tongue) are there in all their glory! I believe I’ve said this a few times before, but as much as I love the original, I think I love this even more cause it’s everything I’ve grown to love performed by people I know and love! It just doesn’t get any better! 🤩🐰
So if you need some help getting into the holiday spirit, some laughs, some smiles, and maybe a few happy tears, then make sure to catch this show! “Fah ra rah ra rah, ra rah ra rah!” 🦆🎄🥰
