“Steel Magnolias”, author Robert Harling’s 1987 stage play, became a cultural zeitgeist after the release of the 1989 film version starring Sally Field, Dolly Parton, Julia Roberts, Olympia Dukakis, Shirley MacLaine and Daryl Hannah.

Opening Night is tomorrow!!

STEEL MAGNOLIAS” OPENS AT THEATRE 29 WITH ROTARY-SPONSORED GALA OPENING NIGHT

The powerful drama, “Steel Magnolias”, will open this Mother’s Day weekend for a three-week run at Theatre 29 with a special opening night gala sponsored by the Yucca Valley Sunset Rotary Club. Rotary club organizer Patti Brown said, “The club is excited to be Kicking off the Mother’s Day weekend with Opening night tickets to “Steel Magnolias”. The evening’s festivities will include a decorative hat contest, a trivia Contest with prizes, Silent auction items, a 50/50 raffle, Cocktails, live auction of a Mother’s Day Motherlode basket, and a menu of southern delights.

Tickets for opening night are still available! Money raised at the opening night of “Steel Magnolias” will go towards kids’ scholarships and kids camps that Rotary funds throughout the year. Tickets for the gala only are $40 and are available online at theatre29.org or by calling Patti Brown at 760-365-7003.
