Thread by thread, stitching fabric into art!

Teresea Shippy breathes new life into cut-up quilts, painted fabric scraps, vintage ties, and wool remnants to embroider delightful floral designs. Known for her classic car motifs, her floral collection blends playful textures and color to make every bouquet unique from one another.

Photos just don’t capture their essence. Come experience the floral detail up close at Chemers Gallery online or in person.

Meet Jeff Crusberg.

A lifelong maker, Jeff’s creative path began with a father who was equal parts teacher, inventor, and artist. After earning his BFA from UCLA, family life and a career building custom millwork, cabinetry, and homes Jeff took a break from painting, but never from creating.

Today, Jeff brings that same quality craftsmanship to his still life oil paintings. Through carefully considered composition, rich textures, and dramatic interplay of light and shadow, he transforms everyday objects into studies of mood, depth, and color.

When you know, you know! Sold!

Last week, 3 collectors added these playful works to their collection. Each bringing their own magic, captivating hearts and sparking smiles. Congrats to our artists Susan Costes, Kristina Swarner, and James Minidis.

There’s something special about finding “the one”. The artwork that speaks to you and makes your space feel complete. And when it’s gone? That’s the moment you know you know, you waited too long.

More works by these artists are available at Chemers Gallery in person or online.

A stitch in time unfolds at Bowers Museum!

Bowers Museum’s newest exhibition, “The American Quilt: Cloth and Commerce,” is now on view through August 30th. Featuring more than 40 quilts and coverlets, the exhibition explores how trade, technology, and community have been woven together across generations.

Karen took these photos of some of the intricate quilt work on opening night. The vast majority of quilts are actually in Bowers Museum’s own collection. Seeing these textiles up close with every stitch, texture, and detail carefully preserved along with their history was inspiring.

P.S. Check out the patterns and newsprint framed with black frames… Chemers Gallery was honored to provide the framing!

When you find yourself nearby this summer, this exhibit is well worth a visit! For more information, visit the Bowers Museum’s website.

When the sun dips low, the desert starts to glow!

Jim Wodark’s western landscape reflects warm sunset skies, long cascading shadows, and all the quiet stillness that comes as the day winds down. Jim captures that fleeting sunset feeling so well… you can almost feel the warm desert winds.

Explore more of Jim’s paintings, beyond the sunset, at Chemers Gallery online or in person.
