A Little History:
❄️Holidays on the River debuted at the Mildred Westervelt Warner Transportation Museum in 2012.
⛸️Holidays on the River moved to the Amphitheater in 2015.
🫶In 2021, Holidays on the River became Holidays on the Plaza, bringing Tuscaloosa’s favorite holiday tradition to Government Plaza.

Each holiday season, Tuscaloosa One Place brings the community together by transforming Government Plaza with the beautiful trees of Tinsel Trail. Their hard work helps create a festive tradition enjoyed by thousands of visitors each year.
Did You Know? The beautiful holiday lights throughout Government Plaza, the Gateway and City Hall are installed by Christmas Decor by Bama, helping transform downtown into a winter wonderland each season.
Every October, our Special Events crew begins transforming Government Plaza into a winter wonderland.
From rink installation to the final string of lights, we work hard to create a holiday tradition our community can enjoy year after year.
