🎶 ONE WEEK. That’s it. DCC is almost back! 🎶

The Monday before classes can only mean one thing: Druid City Chorus returns in just ONE WEEK!

On August 24, we’re coming back together to make great music and build community. We can’t wait to show you what’s in store!

DCC is open to students, faculty, staff, and singers from across the Tuscaloosa community. Whether you’ve sung with us before or you’re ready to join us for the first time, we are ready for you!

We are excited to welcome our new graduate students!
Please welcome Chandler Featherston, MM student in Choral Conducting with a comment below!

Chandler Featherston is a conductor and music educator. Chandler graduated from East Tennessee State University (ETSU) in 2022. While at ETSU, he was a singer and assistant conductor for Chorale, Greyscale, and the Bucsworth Tenor Bass Choir. Chandler competed with Chorale as both a conductor and performer at the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod and Bratislava Music Festival, taking home multiple gold medals and 1st place awards. Chandler has sung and conducted in England, Wales, Austria, Germany, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Canada, Cuba, and throughout the United States. Chandler previously worked in the Clarksville Montgomery County School System (CMCSS) at both Rossview Middle School and West Creek High School. He directed choirs from 6th-12th grade, while also teaching Music History, General Music, and Piano. His choirs earned multiple superior ratings at both the regional and state level choral performance assessments. His choirs have collaborated with both orchestras and wind bands. While at West Creek, he conducted the pit orchestra for the performance of The Addams Family. While at CMCSS, Chandler was the co-writer of the official district-wide middle school choral curriculum. Chandler is committed to the preservation and performance of historical music, the creation of new compositions, and the accessibility of music education for all. Chandler resides in Tuscaloosa with his wife Sarah.

We are excited to welcome our new graduate students!
Please welcome Spencer Dawson, DMA student in Choral Conducting

Spencer Dawson is a current graduate student at The University of Alabama working towards his D.M.A. in Choral Conducting. Spencer spent the previous six years in Springfield, MO where he taught K-12 vocal music, served as the associate conductor for the Queen City Chorale, and earned his M.M. in Choral Conducting from Missouri State University. While at MSU, Spencer performed and conducted both nationally and internationally including performances in South Korea, Argentina, Chili, the Czech Republic, Germany, South Africa, Australia, and New Zealand. Originally from Carl Junction, MO, Spencer earned his B.S. in K-12 Vocal Music Education from Missouri Southern State University in 2020. Following his time in Alabama, Spencer plans to peruse a career in higher education.

We are so excited to work with Spencer! Roll Tide! 🐘

Congratulations to our Director of Choral Activities Dr. Morgan Luttig! She has been named a finalist for the 2026 American Prize Ernst Bacon Memorial Award for Performance of American Music (larger college/university division)! We are so proud of her and her amazing leadership of this program. She gives her absolute best to UA Choirs every day and we are so grateful! We love to see her work recognized beyond our campus. Roll Tide!

UA Choirs was well represented at the Alabama ACDA Summer Conference! It is always a joy to see choral directors from across the state come together for this annual event.

We enjoyed outstanding performances and wonderful sessions led by headlining conductor Chris Maunu. We are proud of the recent UA graduates and current UA faculty presented interest sessions, led reading sessions, and participated in the conducting masterclass.

We are honored to host this conference each year and proud of everyone who helped make it a success!

We’re excited to share that the UA Treble Chorus is a finalist for the 2026 American Prize in Choral Performance (college/university division)! We are so proud to be recognized alongside other large university choral programs in the country, it is an honor!This is recognition of their dedication and commitment to artistry. Congrats to all of these students who made this honor possible! Roll Tide!
