🌟On Saturday we celebrated a year of dancing at Tupelo Ballet Academy with our students featured in recitals for friends and families to enjoy. Congratulations to all of the dancers for their hard work over the year! 🤩
At the Saturday morning performance, we had the opportunity to present the Révérence Scholarship for Dance Arts. In ballet, a révérence is the final exercise at the end of class—a gesture of gratitude and mutual appreciation between teacher and student. It is both a thank you and a farewell, honoring the work, dedication, and relationship built through years of training together.
The Révérence Scholarship for Dance Arts was created to recognize students who have demonstrated dedication to dance, academic achievement, artistry, character, and a genuine appreciation for the performing arts, and the two $1500 scholarships are open to any senior dance student in Lee County. Recipients are selected by an independent committee of community leaders based on their accomplishments, recommendations, essays, performances, and academic standing.
This year both recipients were Tupelo Ballet Company members and we are incredibly proud of the impact these dancers have made to Tupelo Ballet over the years. Congratulations to Carlyle Blossom and Mary-Evelyn Maynard! 🩰🎓 Keep dancing and sharing your love for the arts, ladies!
