ugh to participate in social dancing events like our weekly practice parties. If you aren't sure a group lesson is right for you, private lessons are also available. As dancers gain confidence and proficiency in basic steps, there are classes to add new variations that make dancing even more fun. Our schedule is updated monthly so you can select the classes that match your interests. Every Friday there is a practice party at the studio beginning at 7:00. The party includes a newcomer lesson, an intermediate lesson and two full hours to dance. Many people come straight from work and dancers of all levels mingle. You won't find strangers at our party - only dance friends! We are often asked to put pricing on Facebook. It really depends on what you do, which is why we don’t pick just one category. If you take group classes, most are $10. Our parties are $10. Private lessons are more. We even have pricing for teens that is lower. So please call us to determine what it costs for what you want to do.

The idea for Dancing For Dan began when Stephanie Betts Munteanu - one of Dan and Jan Davis’ first ballroom dance teachers - said she wanted to come to Tupelo to dance in memory of Dan, who passed away last year.

Stephanie and her husband, Alexandru Munteanu, are champion American Smooth dancers from Boston. They are traveling to Tupelo to honor Dan’s memory through the art they all loved so much. While they are here, they, along with Robbie Greenwood, will also serve as judges for Dance Like The Stars, the annual fundraiser benefiting the Boys & Girls Club.

Everyone who knew and loved Dan Davis, everyone who loves ballroom dance, and anyone who would enjoy seeing world-class dancers perform is warmly invited to attend. There will be several performances and presentations and the event will be enjoyable to all who attend. The event, which will include dancing to Dan’s favorite playlist, is free and open to the public.

Dancing For Dan is co-hosted by The Tupelo Ballroom Dance Club and The Dance Studio of Tupelo.
