🚨STRANGER DANGER ALERT🚨
If a stranger approaches you on FB soliciting you to get a tattoo and wants a deposit, here are some things to watch out for to help keep you from getting scammed -
🚩They are a stranger
🚩They approach you about getting a tattoo
🚩They say that you can’t put a deposit down in person
🚩They claim to be a tattoo artist that doesn’t accept cash
🚩Their portfolio is all over the place as far as style and quality
🚩Their portfolio has many pictures of tattoos done in different shops with different flooring, walls, equipment, etc…
🚩The ‘consultation’ will be more about money than it will be about the tattoo that you want

So….
Do your own research on the person.
Ask your friends if they know who the person is that approached you online.
Ask the stranger for the name and location of the shop that they work at.
Is it a place that you’ve heard of? Is it easily searchable online? How long has the shop’s online profile been active? Does it have a shop number? How long has the shop’s number been active? Is it even a real place of business?
Call the shop and explain that you were apporached online by someone claiming to work at their shop and ask if that person works there. Ask them about the shop’s deposit policy and if you can make a deposit in person.
Finally, if you know it’s a scam, report it.
It’s all up to you to keep yourself from getting scammed. Be wary of any stranger that comes at you online for anything to do with money.
Oh, and Wild Honey Tatt has never worked here. We’ve got three artists -Josh, Ryan, and Philip. No Wild Honey Tatt, who it seems has already deleted his profile….
