GumTree Museum of Art GMA brings high quality exhibitions, workshops, lectures, and arts activities to the surrounding communities for the last 39 years!

Our exhibitions are always free and open to the public. The GumTree Museum of Art was established as a non-profit corporation in 1982. Since 1985, the GumTree Museum, a public visual arts gallery, has maintained a high standard of visual art for its members and the public, and serves as an educational institution for the visual arts. Through the highest quality exhibitions, workshops, lectures, an

d other activities, the Museum has established itself as a center for the promotion of the visual arts and an important cultural asset to the state of Mississippi. Much emphasis is placed upon the importance of education through hands-on workshops for children and adults. The original Peoples Bank & Trust Company building, located in downtown Tupelo, has housed the GumTree Museum of Art since February 1985. The Beaux Arts-style building was built between 1904 and 1905, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Join us for a special Juneteenth Brunch presented by the GumTree Museum of Art and Juneteenth Tupelo as we gather to celebrate art, culture, and community.

📍Please note: This event will take place at The Depot in Downtown Tupelo — 208 North Front Street — NOT at the museum.
⭐️We are honored to welcome Mrs. Victoria Cummings-Bobo, a Fulton native, as our featured speaker. Mrs. Cummings-Bobo will discuss her mixed media artwork and share insights on the importance and legacy of folk art.
Guests will enjoy pastries and coffee while connecting with the community and celebrating Juneteenth through conversation and creativity.

GumTree Museum of Art is proud to partner with the Tupelo Elvis Festival to display 20-25 images and items from a local’s private collection.

All pieces were donated to the collection from Ms. Janelle McComb who was a lifelong friend, neighbor, and confidante of the Presley family from Tupelo, MS. Come check out these rare images and artifacts at the museum during our own Tupelo Elvis Festival (June 2-6).

What a night! ✨ We had an incredible time celebrating the 2nd Annual Members’ Art Show at the GumTree Museum of Art this past Friday. Thank you to everyone who came out to support our talented artists and make the evening such a wonderful success.
