ICE Is Active and Operating in Tulsa. Learn How to Help Your Community
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is active in Tulsa. We receive photos, videos, and firsthand accounts almost daily.
Community reports that ICE activity most often intersects with traffic stops and routine law enforcement encounters.
These encounters may begin with:
• Traffic stops for alleged violations such as speeding, broken lights, or expired tag.
• Stops related to unsafe or reckless driving.
• Situations where local law enforcement identifies someone already flagged in federal systems.
• Some ICE operations begin after a tip or lead, suggesting someone the individual knows may have provided information prior to enforcement.
We want to remind the public to DO NOT interfere physically with officers or attempt to obstruct an arrest. Doing so can put everyone at risk and may worsen the situation for the detained person.
There are other ways to help:
• Take note of the time, location, and agency involved
• Help family members locate the person through official detention locator systems
• Assist with contacting an immigration attorney or legal aid organization
• Help coordinate childcare, transportation, or basic needs for affected families
• Offer emotional and logistical support rather than confrontation
Although we receive visual material daily, we have chosen not to publish videos or photos of ICE operations. These actions are fast and by time content is posted, the operation is already over.
Our role is to inform, not to amplify anxiety. We will prioritize verified information, context, and guidance that serves the community.❤️
