104 years ago today, Oklahomans voted to ratify the state constitution to include universal women's suffrage. With a passage of 106,909 to 81,481 votes, Oklahoma became the 21st state to grant women the right to vote.

In September 2012, an old freight yard was transformed into an urban green space built with sustainability in the forefront. Located in the heart of downtown Tulsa, this industrial square block required the removal of an old gas station and 12 rusted fuel tanks. The surrounding soil was reclaimed and the space became Guthrie Green!

In just ten days, Guthrie Green will officially turn ten! Stay tuned for fun facts about the Green leading up to the big day on September 7! Plus, visit guthriegreen.com to learn more about the 10-year celebration!

COVID-19 vaccination will be an important tool to help stop the pandemic, but it continues to be one tool in the toolbox. While COVID-19 mRNA vaccines appear to be highly effective, additional preventive tools remain important to limit the spread of COVID-19. The combination of getting vaccinated and following public health recommendations to protect yourself and others will offer the best protection. It will take time to vaccinate so it's important that everyone continue to take all steps to prevent spread of COVID-19.

drove from Ft Smith to Tulsa specifically to go to buy Mel Cornshucker pottery, arrived at the studio only to be told they are closed on Mondays. Nowhere on their FB page, or any other link I could find states they are closed on Mondays. No sign on the door saying they were closed. Spoke with a woman at his booth at the Cherokee Art Market a few weeks prior to this and discussed the day I was to be in Tulsa and was told to come to the studio. I love Mel Cornshucker's work but he missed out on a sale that day. Was not able to get back to the studio before leaving town. Very disappointing.
