GEORGE’S STORY

George Eshleman is an Army veteran who tired of watching his fellow soldiers die by su***de and decided to do something remarkable.

George set out to hike the entire 2,200-mile Appalachian Trail carrying 363 name tapes from the uniforms of military members lost to su***de, given to him by their families. One name tape for every life lost. Every single one carried across mountains from Maine to Georgia.

Along the way, strangers became community and fellow hikers became family. And George, who had been fighting his own battle with depression and the crushing weight of an illusion of strength, began to heal.

In his own words:

"Mental illness is such a frowned upon term that many people, including myself, have kept inside. That illusion of strength I thought I had, almost killed me."

This is not just a film. This is George's true story. And on May 28 he will be in the room at Circle Cinema in Tulsa to share it with you.
