Spotlight on MHS Art

At tonight’s McAlester Public Schools Board of Education meeting, Mrs. Melissa Jones shared an inspiring look at the McAlester High School Art Program and the creative opportunities available to our students.

Through artistic expression, imagination, and hands-on learning, the MHS Art Program encourages students to explore their talents, develop new skills, and showcase their creativity.

Thank you, Mrs. Jones, for your dedication to arts education and for highlighting the incredible opportunities our students have to grow and shine through the arts.

What will McAlester High School Theatre be bringing to the stage this spring?

We’ve made our choice, but we’re not telling anyone just yet!

Our Spring Musical Reveal Board is up just outside Ms. Higgins classroom and each day we’ll eliminate ONE musical from the running. As the possibilities disappear one by one, can you figure out which show will be left standing?

Follow along each day, make your predictions, and tell us in the comments which musical you think or hope will survive the countdown!

Some guesses will be right.
Some favorites will fall.
And eventually… only ONE will remain.

What’s your prediction for our 2027 Spring Musical?

MHS Mock Trial Begins the Season

The MHS Mock Trial team stepped into the courtroom for its first scrimmage of the season, facing Broken Arrow at the Pittsburg County Courthouse.

The scrimmage gave our students an opportunity to put their preparation into practice, sharpen their courtroom skills, and gain experience as they begin another exciting season of competition.

We are proud of the hard work, and professionalism these students brought to the courtroom and look forward to watching them continue to grow throughout the season.

Best of luck to our Mock Trial team as they prepare for the competitions ahead!
