A day late for WIP Wednesday. Yesterday was the first day of school for my kiddos and it was a huge day 😴
I am currently making a bag for my youngest. She wanted a bag with a flap and lots of pockets. This diaper bag pattern from Nazanin S. Fard is perfect. She did opt out of the polka dots (not mad about it, you make them separately and sew them on). I was trying to have it done for yesterday but life had other plans, as normal. I'm excited to finish it up and get it assembled.

This unicorn did not sell yesterday. That's OK though. My 13 year old has claimed her and is very happy with her as a cuddle buddy. Between the actual crochet, assembly, and then the details, I have close to 24 hours in her. I'm very proud of how she turned out. Especially with her tartan and handmade belt to complete the picture. Her thistle flower is removable and can be worn as a thumb ring. 😁

My commissions are open if anyone would like to order a customized crochet stuffy. If local to the Tulsa area, hand delivery is included. If shipping, the customer is responsible for all shipping costs.

I am so tired but today was amazing. I have some strong feelings about people selling store bought, mass produced, and 3D printed items as "hand made" or "artsy", but that's fine. I met some super nice people, got to spend time with a couple friends, and even broke even (booth rent only, we won't talk about yarn and supplies 🙈). Sadly, I didn't get to see any of the athletes compete. Dinner was SUPER tasty; I tried a Scotch egg for the first time! The live music was phenomenal, I caught myself tapping along several times. 😁

All in all, good day.

Recommendations: I need to change my round sign. It confused people (I'm Debi Doe now 🤣🙈). I also need to add Banded Cows to my cow rotation for future Scottish related events or festivals.

I am so excited and yet stressed for tomorrow! Between my health and losing my husband's Granny, I have not gotten everything done I had originally planned. I will have several thistle keychains, highland cows, bears, and a couple unicorns, as well as some odd and end stuffies I've had made for a while. I truly hope everything goes well. The imposter syndrome is hitting very hard tonight. I'll be sure to get pictures of everything tomorrow as I get it set up.

I have finally finished my biggest stuffy yet. I need to take better photographs and will be adding some embroidery details so stay tuned for that!

I've finished my first draft of my thistle flower. I will have thistle flower keychains and earrings for sure on Saturday for the Scottish Games.

I will also have several smaller unicorns as well as highland cows on Saturday. I am so excited for this event!

This is such a cute activity for the kids!

The S.C.O.T. is adding a little bit of extra fun to the Battle on 66 Highland Games & Festival with the introduction of a Clan Passport. The goal is for kids to have every clan present for the Battle on 66 to stamp their passport. There will be a reward at the end, and the passport can be used at any Scottish Cultural event, including Scotfest in September. Be sure to stop by the Scottish Club of Tulsa’s tent to pick yours up!

I'm continuing to work on my signs today due to my hands deciding they hurt (oh the joys of being a disabled artist). I am beyond tickled with how my chalkboard easel is shaping up. A store bought easel like this was at Michael's for nearly $40. Cute, but I could not justify the purchase. Well. I saw these chalkboards for $5 a piece at Dollar Tree and inspiration struck! I've crocheted chains to use in place of the hinges. I'm working on a carry handle for the top now to both make it easier to carry and also to add more stability along the seam. 😁 I'll be sure to post photos as soon as I'm done!

Working on making my signs for my market booth. I'm very excited to get these done. They will both be sealed once the first layer of glue drys. 😁
