I made a rug with my own two hands.

“Wouldn’t one of those tufting machines be so much faster???” - so many people

Yes.

There are faster ways to make something, but there is nothing that tops of feeling of impressing yourself by doing something you didn’t know you could do.

I started this project with a tiny voice in the back of my head saying “you’ll probably start this but you won’t finish it.”

Not only did I finish it, but I taught dozens of other makers to make one, too.

And I’m opening it back up again for YOU this fall.

🌸Here’s how it works:

1️⃣ We prep all the materials for you: the fabric, the needles, the yarn and the gripper frame
2️⃣ We send you 6 monthly yarn shipments so you can work on one section of the rug at a time
3️⃣ We give you step-by-step video instructions plus you have access to a punch needle professional (me 🙋‍♀️) to help answer your question along the way
4️⃣ In six months, with about 2 hours of work a week, you’ll have finished a handmade heirloom.

And your guests will say “where did you get that?!”

And you’ll proudly reply “I MADE IT.”

I always knew this day would come 💩

It’s bound to happen if you have 4 children and when it does, you better hope you used rug wool!

It’s a workhorse and is so incredibly durable. It can stand up to almost anything, even a two year old going through potty training.

Use a wool-friendly cleaner, let it dry, vacuum up the wool pills and then you’re ready to go!

Punch needle is functional and p**p literally happens and we can roll with the punches!

Punch needle slows down my brain in the very best way.

This is from when I made the wildflower rug almost 3 years ago (I can’t believe it’s been that long!) and I have the best memories of that season.

Dot and George were so little and I was pregnant with Gus which means he was still in “captivity” and unable to p**p on my floors🤣

I spend most afternoons in my sunroom with my kids playing around me while I punched. Slow sunny days.

Life is obviously busier with 2 additional children and work that still has to be done for The Urban Acres, but there’s something about having a project that you can sit and chip away at.

Enjoy your days friends, it goes by quicker than you realize!
