Added some mega mojo to
Dire Wolf Tattoo βs assortment of pieces from Richard Stellβs personal collection, as seen in the various iterations of Pair O Dice π² π² and other shops spearheaded or inhabited by the legend himself.
During the countless conversations on the subject, it was easily inferred how proud he was to have a sign made by master sign painter and icon of hand-painted advertising Gary Martin , that so cynically invites the reader to come back βtomorrowβ for free tatts. Always βtomorrow!β Definitely of Richardβs witty brand of humor!
I only found a few shots of it βin situ,β this one of the mega talented Chad Clark pinstriping The Big Chest, which sat in the lobby of Pair O Dice during the Tulsa years. I believe we took the trip to Tulsa in 2015β¦ maybe.

Here Tanner DeArman gets tattooed by DW co-owner timgillman while Richard leans in with a snarky comment and masterful critique. He sure seemed to love hanging back telling outrageous jokes and stories while folks got tattooed. It was the BEST. Total magic!
Weβre definitely beyond grateful to be the current custodians of this and SO MANY MORE pieces of powerful Tulsa tattoo history, and hope to share it with as many Tulsans as possible that have an interest in how things got to be the way they are.
