Our next New Arts Summer Camp session is next week! Join Cora Hasegawa as she teaches her second camp this season: Introduction to Yarn Work and Yarn Bombing! This camp introduces students to the fundamentals of yarn work, leading up to the exciting practice of "yarn bombing"—a fun, non-destructive form of street art. Students will learn basic knitting, crocheting, or weaving techniques and use their new skills to create vibrant, temporary installations!

Moving through the 90s and 2000s into the 2010s, Living Arts shifted away from music, focusing more on Spoken Word, installations, and physical art. This time period also saw immense growth for Living Arts, with the creation of the Dia de los Mu***os Arts Festival, our fundraiser and member showcase Champagne & Chocolate, and our transistion into our current building on the corner of Detroit and Reconciliation! Throughout it all, though, Living Arts has kept our mission and goal and supporting artists, and exhibiting art that makes you talk.

Using color, texture, shape, and imagery, participants will create a piece that reflects the world they hope to live in.
