Scenes from the I Love Boosters Oklahoma premiere!
This night was a moment we hope to look back on as a major spark to the imagination around what’s possible. So many of us came together around a film that truly makes imagining that better world together so much fun. It is so often nearly unbelievable we get to play around like this. And so many of you made it possible…
A huge thank you to our co-hosts Tulsa Film Collective and Sterlin Harjo for making this such a great night.
A major thank you to our curatorial partner Colleen and our bright future exploring Black and Indigenous solidarity through our program Kinship Frame.
Major major major appreciation to Native Arts + Cultures for financially supporting Kinship Frame when the country and state are doing the opposite.
And it wouldn’t matter if you all didn’t show up to be a part of it, so thank you to the organizations, individuals, especially those Black and Indigenous led that knew this would be a night to remember and took a chance on seeing something so imaginative and important for shaping the world we all hope to build together.
And thank you so much to Boots Riley for being that creative AND principled force that brought us all together, not just as an audience, but as organizers, friends, and neighbors seeing another world is possible through your lens.
And lastly an all caps THANK YOU to the volunteers that made this happen. Literally making Dreamland a reality with their own hands. There’s always a special seat for the folks who show up not just to see the movie, but to keep the theater going. And similarly extended to the staff of our venue etonsquare6 who made the evening seem effortlessly smooth.
Extra s/o to 📸Charles E Elmore📸 for capturing the big hats, Okies, and Boots on the ol Texas Leica!
More to come!!
Best and Good Rest,
Dreamland
