Wild Over Watercolor - WOW Wild Over Watercolor , or WOW!, is an artist group focused on watercolor painting in the Portland metro area.

We paint together, offer each other positive critique, have demos on new techniques and socialize every month in Tualatin and Keizer, Oregon.

There are certain subjects I keep coming back to...rocks and stones being one of them. Who as a kid didn't collect rocks in a shoebox and put them like secret treasures from the earth under their bed for safe-keeping? After I painted these with watercolor, I marbled the work which made it so much more interesting. Over the years, I've learned a few tricks with the marbling tray to get truly splendid results. If the weather holds, I am planning to conduct my final Marbling Workshop of the year at my home studio in a couple of weeks on October 17th and 18th from 10am to 4pm. Please visit my solo art show this October (running the whole month) at the offices of the Winter Financial Group In Newberg. There's a fun reception this Friday evening from 5- 8pm. Big news! I am expanding my Open Studio time to include Wednesday mornings from 9 am to Noon. I imagine that before long we will have a vibrant group of watercolor artists creating together in a positive and inspiring space.
I’m inviting you to join us if you live in the area and are looking for inspiration and/or a place to sharpen your skills or get meaningful critique. I have some true beginners who will be part of the Wednesday morning group, so if you know anyone who would like a good class in southwest Portland, please send them my way, and they will learn how to paint with watercolors with lots of demos, clear instruction on the basics, and tips and tricks for success.
Since the pandemic, I’ve been teaching out of my home studio, and my students love the more intimate and cozy feeling of meeting at my home instead of a cold rented classroom somewhere. Happy news! Just learned my painting "Tattoo'd By Light" has been accepted into the Watercolor Society of Oregon Spring Exhibition. My thanks to Juror Keiko Tanabe for accepting artwork. This wonderful art show which promotes the experimental side of watercolor will take place on the Oregon Coast in Yachats from April 5-12.

I am now on display at the Red Trillium Gallery in Troutdale! So excited to be represented in this lovely art gallery. The Red Trillium Gallery is open daily, 10-5:00, at the East end of historic downtown Troutdale, Oregon, next to Bev Frank Antiques and across the street from Good Coffee. Troutdale is a great place to visit with cute little shops and eateries. Only 25 minutes from Portland with free and easy parking.
