Check out our Principal Clarinet, Dario Brignoli, next week as he helps to open the Arizona Friends of Chamber Music summer concert series. Since joining the TSO in 2017, Dario has performed internationally and continues to represent Tucson on stages near and far.

Behind the baton 🎬🎶

We caught up with Guest Conductor Matthew Kasper ahead of Star Wars: A New Hope In Concert and he shared what makes conducting to film a unique challenge:

“You must be more planned out. When I am conducting a Classics concert, I am very much in the moment and respond to the orchestra, but with film, everything must be a lot more planned out, exactly how you’re going to make the transitions so you can hit the tempos. And you have to be super clear with the orchestra because you don’t have a lot of rehearsal time.”
