Bell shared this photo with the famed composer weeks before the chamber premiere. The song cycle marked their first collaboration in nearly 22 years since their work together on the Oscar-winning film score for The Red Violin.

🎻 Classical meets contemporary 🤩

Grammy Award-winning violinist Charles Yang takes to the stage with the TSO to perform Kris Bowers’ For a Younger Self - a deeply moving first violin concerto composition written in 2019 with Yang in mind.

Yang is far more than a virtuoso violinist. A compelling vocalist, crossover artist and improviser, he brings a genre-defying energy to the stage. ✨

Don't miss the chance to see this one-of-a-kind artist LIVE!

Sergei Rachmaninoff declared, "I try to make my music speak simply and directly that which is in my heart. "

Michael Davidman, who triumphed to win the American Piano Awards, plays Rachmaninoff’s ravishing Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini as part of the Tucson Symphony Orchestra Classic Series this season.

Rachmaninoff premiered his final work for piano and orchestra with the composer as the piano soloist in 1934. Inspired by the famous 16-bar tune from Niccolò Paganini’s Caprice No. 24 for Solo Violin, the same theme also influenced works by Brahms and Franz Liszt.

🎻 Tucson Symphony Orchestra is thrilled to announce the new musicians joining our strings section for the 2026-27 season! ✨

Jocelyn Hartley made her music debut as a soloist at age 14 in her hometown with the Nashville Symphony in Tennessee. Music has taken her all over the world, including performing at Carnegie Hall and the Seoul Arts Center. 🤩 This year she completed a Master of Music degree from the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University, to add to her two bachelor degrees in biology and cello performance. She is a passionate chamber musician, celebrating chamber compositions by women.

Originally from Northern Minnesota, violinist Sadie Hamrin is joining the TSO post-fellowship with the New World Symphony. She holds a master’s degree from McGill University, with a bachelor’s degree from Baylor University where she was awarded the Moore Outstanding Senior Instrumental Performer Award. Hamrin is passionate about community outreach and education, having worked with young musicians in Montréal, Miami, and Medellín, Colombia.

We’re so happy to have these accomplished musicians join us on stage and looking forward to getting to know them. Here’s to a wonderful season ahead! ✨🎶
