Hello All!!! I have an announcement~Somewhere In The Rainbow is thrilled to tell you about a new Lapidary Extravaganza we have created!!!

Titled, Rags 2 Riches...it entails,
Taking rough and turning it into something beautiful, intricate and noteworthy!!

Due to the huge success of our sapphire event and exhibit, we will be hosting a new set of lapidary artists to fashion a gem, in their own unique style, from ruby boule!!

The ruby boule has graciously been donated for the cutters by Bernd Stefan, in Germany..colleague to Douglas Mays, who donated the sapphire boule for our first event. Thank you Bernd!!!

Here is the list of lapidary artists who will be designing and fashioning new gems for SITR Lapidary Extravaganza2...please support and congratulate them!! This is a project they donate their skills and time to...they are not financially compensated.

SITR has been asked to extend our exhibit at the Tucson Gem and Mineral Museum thru June 2018. These cutters gems will go on exhibit in January 2018, next to the sapphire extravaganza exhibit!!

I send my sincere thanks to each of these cutters for accepting this challenge and bringing your beautiful art form to the mineral, gem and jewelry worlds!! Without you, we'd just have rocks...with you, we have gems!!

Here is the boule they will use~photos by Sean Milliner.
Craig Oliveira, James Finkler, Joyce O'Connell, Angela County, Derek Katzenbach, Rex Guo, Jay Medina, Ryan Anderson, Sherris Cottier Shank and 3 pending responses. Good Luck, have a blast and we're all waiting to see your work come to life!!
Your packages will arrive next week!!

AGTA Spectrum Winners!!!
Would you like your winning design exhibited and visited by thousands of guests at the Tucson Gem and Mineral Museum from January 2018-June 2018??
Somewhere In The Rainbow has been asked to extend our exhibit in Tucson, through June 2018. So, in order to showcase the amazing wok of so many AGTA Spectrum winners, I will be featuring 20 NEW artists beginning in time for AGTA Gem Fair 2018!!
The overwhelming success of the 20 artists we have on exhibit now has been such fun and I feel it a privilege to invite 20 new pieces, artists, gems and winners to be put on exhibit.
Please send me the year you received your award, a photo of the piece and ensure you have access to the piece from December 2017-June 2018. If your winning design is chosen to be showcased, I will also ask your for bio and photo so guests can learn all about YOU!!

Three distinctive types of emeralds from Colombia.
5ct classic faceted cushion, a beauty to behold! No oil and cut to show its depth of color.

A 16ct Trapiche from Bogota with a gorgeous pattern. One of my personal faves!!

20ct, no oil, no treat unusual but super bright in a necklace created by Master, Eddie Sakamoto. Platinum mirror finish to throw the color outward, 18kt green gold and diamond accents. This gem causes discussion always because it's not classic color. It does however feature enough chromium content to be classified as emerald, along with three labs, all certifying it, over a span of two years.
If you can imagine the finest emerald color and throw an aqua into the mix, this is its color.
Loupe clean and luscious!!

May babies sure have great choices in celebrating their gem choice!! Happy Birthday May friends!!

All of these amazing gems are on exhibit at the Flandrau Planetarium in Tucson, AZ.
