Tucson Porch Fest

Tucson Porch Fest Music on the porch! Different neighborhoods in Tucson take turns hosting Porch Fests through the year Park your car and leave it for the event. ENJOY!

Inspired by a similar day-long festival in Somerville Mass., Tucson Porch Fest celebrates local neighborhoods and musical talent in a family friendly environment. Here are some suggestions for enjoying Tucson Porch Fest:

This is a leave no trace event. Please pack all of your trash and bring your own reusable water bottle! Bring cash (lots of $1 and $5 bills) so you can tip the musicians (it's th

eir only form of income for the event) and support the local food trucks that will be participating in the event. Tucson Porch Fest is best enjoyed by foot, wheelchair or bicycle. If you must sit, bring a blanket or portable chair. A few chairs will be provided for people who have trouble standing. Most porches will have refreshments available, but bring your own water bottle to cut down on waste.

5:30-6:30 Kyklo

7-8 Laura Jean and Clay Koweek
Laura Jean is one of Tucson’s sweetest songbirds. Blending country, Appalachia, and folk influences into her originals, she has a lovely way of laying her heart on the table, weaving in just the right amount of humor. Joined by Tucson native Clay Koweek on either pedal steel or lead guitar, it is sure to be a set of soulful, twanging joy.

Clay Koweek lives simply in Tucson where he was born. Friend to the critters and folks alike, he has been playing music professionally since the mid-90s.

5-6 Gabriel Naïm Amor and Thøger Lund

French born, Gabriel Naïm Amor , is a staple in the Tucson music scene, treating audiences to diverse styles for almost 30 years. Sometimes he’s blazing on an electric guitar, other times it’s experimental avant pop or jazzy French tunes. Between recording albums, Naïm composes film soundtracks, including the score for an award-winning PBS documentary film.
Renowned bassist Thøger Lund is a full-time musician who has toured all over the world. A core member of Giant Sand for 20 years, he's also worked with legends such as John Paul Jones (Led Zeppelin), Raimundo Amador, KT Tunstall, Mark Lanegan, and Madeleine Peyroux—that’s the short list.

6:15-7:30 Eugene Boronow
An Armory Park resident, Eugene is a pedal-powered musician, biking all his gear to any gig. The energy he used to pour into bicycle racing is now devoted to songwriting and singing his mellow and melodic tunes.
