Last night we went where no one has gone before! I am absolutely over the moon with how much fun this show was and would like to give my most sincere thanks to all that were a part of Burlesque In Space with The Furys at Surly W***h Pub! Starting with our incredibly out-of-this-universe band, The Furys: Jacob Jakerson, Hank Norush, and George Palenzuela, who rocked and rolled the W***h all night long, our wonderfully creative and talented performers: Bunny Boom Boom, Desiré d’Amour, Ghoulia, Itza Dryheat, Lela Rose, Matt Finish, Natasha Noir, Sonia Rita, and Taryn Garters, our oh so stellar Stage Kitten SoSo Lovely, Surly W***h Pub’s top-notch staff, tech wizard Jacob Cloer on lights and sound, Glen AZ for taking professional video of our performers, our fantastic photographer Rick Bracht, and of course our incredibly cosmic host Stephka Von Sn**ch, and lastly our spectacular Surly W***h audience - THANK YOU so very much for supporting local artists and Tucson’s burlesque scene. We’re almost ready for tomorrow night’s launch! This live band burlesque show is inspired by the Ventures In Space album and the band will be covering plenty of tunes from that very album along with other cosmic surf tunes, and even a couple of original songs by The Furys! And just wait ’til you see what the band is wearing! I hope you’re as excited for this show as I am!

Burlesque is my passion, and the opportunity to perform the art of st******se for an appreciative audience is a thrill beyond compare! It is my sincere pleasure to create a show with First Fridays Burlesque, along with Tucson and Southern Arizona’s most entertaining performers, to bring you: Burlesque In Space, featuring live music by The Furys! Let’s buckle up for takeoff with another performer spotlight - It’s Sonia Rita! We’re so excited to have this entertaining and enthralling stripteause performing in Burlesque In Space!

Sonia Rita is a classically trained folklorico dancer turned burlesque babe, who lives to entertain. Based in the funky hills of Bisbee, Arizona, she organizes a majority of the towns renowned events and won awards for her stage presence, productions and even parade floats (she runs the Bisbee Brats art car parade!) Sonia’s energetic personality has brought her around the world but her favorite place is being right here in the old Pueblo!

VIP is sold out, but general admission will be available at the door night of show for only $10!

Talk about an out-of-this-galaxy performer! Our next spotlight is an absolute master of the art of burlesque and will have you on the edge of your seat with excitement! It’s delightfully dynamic Desiré d’Amour!

Desiré d’Amour has been performing burlesque for over 25 years. She found her love and inspiration for burlesque when visiting Exotic World, later renamed the Burlesque Hall of Fame (BHoF), in 2000. She joined Dane's Dames, one of the first burlesque troupes of the neo-burlesque scene, the same year. Later, as a solo performer, she graced some of the top stages in burlesque such as VaVaVoom Room, Lucha Va Voom, Rock & Roll Strip Show, Tease-o-rama and BHoF / Miss Exotic World. �
But don’t just look for her on the stage…her burlesque calling continues behind the scenes. She served over 15 years on the BHoF Weekender production team and 10 years on the BHoF Board.
�She co-founded Tucson's first burlesque troupe and continues to produce shows there. And she loves to share her tassel and fire tassel twirling expertise and teaching others the art of burlesque.�

Tucson's Sizzlin' TEMPtress - this sweet heat will have you sweatin' in your seat. Once AZ Strippys Burlesque Kitten of the Year, she's now blazing on the AZ burlesque scene with her background in dance and a flare for classic, neo, and outright out there stylings. Itza is sure to entertain and will have you thinking "she's damn hot, but at least Itza Dryheat!”

I couldn’t be more proud to have The Furys as our band for the Burlesque In Space show! The members of The Furys are not only highly accomplished musicians but are also the nicest guys you’ll ever meet. Here’s a little more about them!

The Furys are a “Desert Surf” band, comprised of Jacob Jakerson (guitar), Hank Norush (bass), and George Palenzuela (drums), and are influenced by the sounds of Dick Dale, The Lively Ones, The Pyramids, Duane Eddy, and The Ventures.

In Burlesque In Space, The Furys will be covering your favorite super surfy tunes that’ll have you over the moon with excitement! And, each burlesque performer has chosen their music, costume, and choreography to create acts uniquely their own. You won’t want to miss this exciting show!!!
